Bulb of greenish lily (bulbus Lilium spp.), root of prepared rehmannia (rhizome Rehmannia glutinosa), root of balloonflower (radix Platycodon grandiflorum), and others (processed from pure traditional Chinese medicine, none of western medicine is included).
[Efficacy] Nourish kidney and moisten lung, nourish Yin and clear away heat.
[Indications] Long-lasting hoarse voice due to asthenia of lung and kidney-Yin.
[Explanation of the prescription] Huangdineijing lingshu Jingmaipian pointed out that: “Illness originated from kidney meridian of foot-shaoyin has symptoms of hot mouth, dry tongue, swelling throat, abnormal rising of Qi, and pharyngeal dryness and pain.” Yin-asthenia of innate constitution leads to heat, when accompanied with the invasion of exogenous pathogenic factor, will scorch body fluid, fumigate the pathogenic heat upward and result in hoarse voice. In this prescription, drugs for nourishing kidney and moistening lung are chosen as the “monarch”; drugs for nourishing Yin and heat clearing are chosen as the “minister”. Such composition may function together to moisten lung, relieve sore-throat to restore the normal voice.
[Curative effect] The curative effect may generally be felt 2-5 days, and symptoms may disappear 7-10 days after medication. Recovery can be achieved after consolidation.
[Precaution] (1) Tea drinking is forbidden 15 min. before and 30 min. after medication. (2) Patients with other diseases including common cold, fever, cough, diarrhea due to acute gastroenteritis, as well as with excessive internal heat symptoms such as toothache and sore-throat are not suitable to take this preparation simultaneously.

[Efficacy] Reinforce kidney, invigorate brain, dredge orifices, and activate collaterals.
[Indications] Headache due to internal injury and asthenia of kidney.
[Explanation of the prescription] Huangdineijing Suwen Wuzangshengchengpian indicated that: “Headache and epilepsy with deficiency in the lower and excess in the upper are due to excessive Yang in kidney meridian, and it may enter kidney if the situation becomes extreme. Asthenia of kidney essence will decrease the nourishment of brain, cause cachexia of blood vessel, and thus initiate headache. In this prescription, drugs for reinforcing kidney and invigorating brain are chosen as the “monarch”; drugs for dredging orifices and activating collaterals are chosen as the “minister”. Such composition may function together to fill the kidney Yin, nourish the brain, which combines invigoration with activation and may dredge collaterals and relieve headache.
[Curative effect] The curative effect may generally be felt 1-3 days, and symptoms may disappear 5-10 days after medication. Recovery can be achieved after consolidation.
