    The preliminary pharmacodynamic examination 
      After 3 months of continuous gastrogavage of Ling Xueya Dan to spontaneous hypertension rats (SHR), the difference of systolic pressure was significant as compared with blank group, indicating that Ling Xueya Dan was quite effective in depressing the blood pressure of SHR rats. Ling Xueya Dan has no significant influence on diastolic pressure and heart rate of SHR rats
     The marketing prospect of Ling Xueya Dan:
The number of hypertension patients in China is more than 160 million, and almost all of the hypotensors nowadays used are western medicines. Because these hypotensors should be taken whole life long, patients are worried about the toxic side effect along with medication. Ling Xueya Dan is a pure traditional Chinese medicinal preparation without any toxic side effect, and has reliable effect to bring high blood pressure down and can avoid its rebound.
Curative effect:
In general, the effect could be seen after 2-3 days of medication, and, for mild cases, blood pressure will return to normal by 1 to 3 courses of treatment (60 days for each course) and become recovery after a period of consolidation (approximately 1/3 time course of treatment); no more medication will be needed and no rebound will occur after stopping medication. For serious cases, blood pressure will continuously descend along with each course of treatment, and, in relation to the differences of age, constitution, condition and course of disease, and the medicinal sensibility, the patients may generally recover with more courses of treatment.
