Chapter 3 Anyu’s theory of comparison
Chapter 3  Anyu’s theory of comparison
In the middle of last century, modern medical science seemed having substituted the traditional medical system, as if the latter were something out-of-date. Several decades later, however, people realized the limitation of modern medical science as well as the toxic side effect and tolerance of western medicine. Nowadays, since there has appeared the tendency of returning to the original nature and accepting pure natural medicine, it is necessary to objectively revaluate between the traditional and modern medicine, compare their superiority and inferiority and promote the mutual supplementation between the two non-substitutive systems, and thus offering a more effective health service to the world.
  § 1  Wholism and reductionism
Someone has fallen into a misguided worship-blindly at western medicine, as if nothing else can cure diseases that are not curable by western medicines. In fact, this is a misconstruction. In developing the medicines, Anyu has established its unique ideological system by means of ingeniously applying the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, and, on the basis of three fundamental roots, combined with the wholism, the theory of meridians and collaterals and the knowledge of characteristic flavors of herbs.
  1)  The theoretical viewpoint of wholism: human is an integral part of nature
Both human being and the nature are controlled by the same objective rules. Any prerequisite necessary for human life comes from the nature. The motion and variation occurred in the nature should act upon human being directly or indirectly, and the affected human body should react correspondingly with the physiological or pathological changes. For instance, the variation of natural factors, such as season, weather, or geographical region, etc., may affect the physiologic and pathologic status of human being. As documented in Huangdneijing—Lingshu—Wulongjinye Biepian (one of the classical works in traditional Chinese medicine): “Hot weather or heavy dress induces the opening of interstitial space and sweating…….” This statement prompted us that it should be held in mind to pay attention to the influence of natural factors on human being.
In addition to “human is an integral part of nature”, there is also the “integration of body and spirit”. Spirit is an external expression of life activity; they attach to each other and are inseparable. Human and the nature are connected as a whole; the universe and human affect with each other. The whole human body is not simply the sum added from organs of various body parts and could not be disassembled. The basic life activity also is
